About DocuPet
DocuPet offers a platform through which individuals in Canada may purchase or use goods and services. For example, pet owners may, register their pet, create an individualized pet profile, and receive a complementary pet tag. Additionally, pet owners may purchase goods and services offered by DocuPet such as personalized pet tags, collars, and a GPS Tracker. We call these services provided by DocuPet to you the “DocuPet Services”.
In some areas, the Services may include a pet licensing service that helps participating municipalities, government agencies, or other entities responsible for the licensing of pets, or contractors acting for such (each a “Licensing Body”) issue and renew pet licences online (“Licensing Services”).
The DocuPet Services are provided to you by DocuPet. The Licensing Services are provided by DocuPet on behalf of a Licensing Body and are distinct. For example, individuals in Canada who live in a jurisdiction where we do not offer Licensing Services may still use the DocuPet Services to make a purchase.
When you use the DocuPet Services, you are transacting with DocuPet, and the personal information you provide is controlled by DocuPet. Likewise, when you use the Licensing Services to obtain or renew a licence for your pet, the personal information you provide for this purpose is controlled by your Licensing Body. If you use both the DocuPet Services and the Licensing Services, some of your information may be controlled by DocuPet and your Licensing Body separately. The Licensing Body may also provide us with personal information for the Licensing Services. In this case, we process this information to provide our services to the Licensing Body under a contract we have with them. While we describe some of the processing of information we do for Licensing Bodies in this Policy, different Licensing Bodies may have different privacy practices. You should carefully read any privacy notices that may be provided by your Licensing Body, including on our Site. Similarly, if you have any questions regarding the practices of your Licensing Body, you should direct those questions to your Licensing Body.
If you use both the DocuPet Services and the Licensing Services, (for example, by making a purchase from DocuPet, and licensing your pet with your Licensing Body), some of your information may be controlled by both your Licensing Body and by DocuPet. For example, most Licensing Bodies will require the addresses of the people who licence a pet. If you make a purchase from us, we also need your address to deliver your purchase. In this case, your address is separately controlled by your Licensing Body under its notices and bylaws, and by DocuPet under this Privacy Policy.
If DocuPet ceases to provide Licensing Services to your Licensing Body, the information that you have provided, or which has been provided to us by the Licensing Body, for the purpose of providing Licensing Services will be transferred to the Licensing Body, which they control, and for their ongoing use. If some or all of that information is also controlled by DocuPet, we will retain a copy of that information for our ongoing use pursuant to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service.
Consent
By using the Service, you consent to the collections, uses, and disclosure of your personal information by us, as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. You have certain choices regarding how DocuPet processes your personal information. For more information about your choices, Click Here.
When you licence your pet with your Licensing Body on the Site, you also agree to the collection of your personal information by that Licensing Body, in accordance with its bylaws and any notices that may be provided to you by the Licensing Body, including on the Site. Different Licensing Bodies may collect different information and may process it in different manners. As a result, you should always read all privacy related notices from your Licensing Body, in addition to this Privacy Policy.
You may have the option to obtain Licensing Services (if they are available in your area), DocuPet Services, or both.

How The Lost Pet Recovery Service Processes Personal Information
The Lost Pet Recovery Service (“Lost Pet Recovery Service”) allows users to share information with others, including information you designate in your Account and a lost pet report should you submit one. The Lost Pet Recovery Service has several components;
- a “Public Profile”, which allows you to make certain information about yourself and your missing pet available to people who have the alphanumeric code located on your pet tag (the “Tag ID”), by controlling your settings as described in this section,
- a “Lost Pet Listing” which allows you to post a public listing to your Public Profile if your pet becomes lost. This allows members of the public to view your Public Profile, if you choose, for as long as you have the Lost Pet Listing posted. You may also make a Lost Pet Profile without making your Public Profile accessible to people without your Tag ID.
- “PetcoLoveLost Posting” which allows you to consent for DocuPet to share your lost pet information with PetcoLoveLost if your pet is missing;
and - “National Animal Shelter Network” (NASN) which provides participating animal shelters the ability to search the DocuPet database for a lost animal who is wearing a DocuPet Tag, has a microchip, or for specific pet information fields within the DocuPet database when attempting to find the identity for a stray/lost animal brought to their agency without any identification.
You can choose to make a Public Profile, a Lost Pet Listing, a PetcoLoveLost Posting, or all three, and control the information you share through these tools as described below. To facilitate the reunification of lost pets with their families, shelters participating in NASN may search DocuPet Tag numbers, microchip numbers, or for specific pet information fields, to try to identify animals in their care. We do not provide directly identifying information regarding the pet owner to NASN, unless you have agreed to do so, or, unless the NASN is the Licensing Body which holds your pet registration.
Public Profile
You can create a Public Profile for your pet, that includes information you choose to place in it, and that can be accessed by persons with your pet Tag ID as described below. The information you can include in this profile is pet owner name, pet owner contact information, secondary pet owner information, pet name, pet species, pet breed, pet colour, pet age, pet sterilization status and proof of sterilization, pet rabies vaccination expiration date and proof of rabies vaccination expiration date, secondary contact information, veterinary clinic information, pet care instructions, pet obedience levels and behavioural attributes, pet photos, and many other types of pet owner and pet information. If you submit a Lost Pet Listing, that listing may link to this Public Profile.
You can choose the conditions under which your Public Profile information can be viewed by members of the public, and may set information within the Account to either, “Never display”, “Only display when a pet is lost”, or “Always display”. By default, all fields other than your email address are set to “Only display when a pet is lost”. Email address is set to “Never display” by default.
When information is set to “Always Display” that information may be viewed by members of the public who have entered the Tag ID on the Site, for example, if a person has located your pet bearing that Tag ID. When information in your Public Profile is set to “Only display when a pet is lost”, if you report to us that your pet has been lost, information with this setting may be also viewed on the Site by members of the public who have entered your Tag ID. Information set to “Never Display” may not be viewed by members of the public on the Site regardless of whether you have reported your pet missing or whether a person has your Tag ID.
For clarity, although your Public Profile is not designed to be accessed by anyone who does not have your Tag ID, regardless of your settings, it is not possible to guarantee the security of any information online. As a result, you should exercise caution when choosing to post information to your Public Profile.
You may change the settings for your Public Profile in the Profile Settings page of your Account.
Lost Pet Listing
If your pet goes missing, you may choose to post a public Lost Pet Listing. The Lost Pet Listing may be viewed by members of the public who visit the Site, regardless of whether they have your Tag ID. The Lost Pet Listing allows you to post information about your missing pet that you choose. This may include any information you choose to share in the listing, such as your name and contact information, secondary pet owner information, pet name, pet tag and/or microchip numbers (if available), pet species, pet breed, pet colour, pet age, pet sterilization status and proof of sterilization, pet rabies vaccination expiration date and proof of rabies vaccination expiration date, secondary contact information, veterinary clinic information, pet care instructions, pet obedience levels and behavioural attributes, pet photos, the circumstances under which they went missing, where they were last seen, and many other types of pet owner and pet information.
The information you place in your Lost Pet Listing is your choice.
If you have used the Licensing Services, the information you include is also shared with the applicable Licensing Body.
You can also link portions of your Public Profile to the Lost Pet Listing, including the information described under the section on Public Profiles above. If you do, that information may also be viewed by visitors to the Site, regardless of whether they have your Tag ID.
You may choose to have your Lost Pet Listing shared via an email sent by DocuPet to individuals who live near the location of the lost pet, who have agreed to receive these notifications. Likewise, you may choose to receive these notifications regarding the lost pets of others (and can choose to stop receiving them as well).
PetcoLoveLost Posting
DocuPet works with PetcoLoveLost, an independent, third-party organization, to allow the sharing of lost pet information with their PetcoLoveLost service. This service helps to reunite lost pets through the use of pet photos and pet facial recognition technology. If your pet goes missing, at the time you make a Lost Pet Listing, you will be offered the option for DocuPet to disclose your pet’s name, photo, last known location, and certain details regarding your pet, to PetcoLoveLost. If you agree, PetcoLoveLost will make an online profile for your lost pet, which links back to your Lost Pet Listing. This may increase the number of people who see your Lost Pet Listing.
National Animal Shelter Network
DocuPet has established a network of participating, independent, third-party animal welfare shelters across Canada and the US for the purpose of being able to share information to help reunite lost pets with their owners. When a participating shelter has a stray/lost animal without a known owner, the shelter can search a DocuPet Tag, microchip number or animal-specific fields (e.g. pet name, pet species, pet breed, pet colour, pet age, pet sterilization status and proof of sterilization, pet rabies vaccination expiration date and proof of rabies vaccination expiration date, pet photos, pet care instructions, and pet obedience levels/behavioural attributes) within the DocuPet database in hope of finding a match. The shelter is NOT be able to access owner name, address, phone number or email address unless you have provided consent within your Account for the release of that information. If you have not provided such consent and the shelter believes they have a positive match, the shelter may contact DocuPet’s 24 hour lost pet recovery team to submit a found pet report. In such a case, DocuPet may attempt to contact the suspected owner to ask if their pet is missing, verify if the information is correct, and if so, facilitate connection between you and the shelter by asking your consent to disclose your contact information to the shelter.
In all cases, you are solely responsible for the personal information you share through the Service and we cannot guarantee the privacy or security of any information shared by you with other users.
Please note that once information has been published online, it is not always possible to remove it, and that DocuPet cannot control, and is not responsible for what third parties who view such information may choose to do with it. Always think carefully, and exercise caution when publishing personal information.
The Wagoria App
The Wagoria App is a mobile application that you can use to access your Account, including your Pet Profile, and also to use features that include:
- Event Tracking, Scheduling and Daily Routines Creation/Tracking
The Wagoria App provides you with functionality that allows you to enter and track information of your choosing related to your pet(s) behaviour, health and wellness, reminders, pet routines and activities, and regularly recurring events (“Event Tracker”). This can include:
- Entering and tracking standard and custom events, such as walks, play, and vet or grooming appointments.
- Entering events that will happen in the future into a calendar, such as a scheduled vet visit. This can include the creation of a recurring event that repeats daily, or on another cadence you select.
You choose which events to enter into the Wagoria App, can choose the date and time of the event, whether it reoccurs, and whether you have skipped a recurring event. For each event, you can choose the level of detail you wish to enter regarding it. You can delete events you have previously entered if you choose.
The Wagoria App provides you with tools to learn about your pet from the events, and other information you enter regarding them. For example, you can record streaks such as the number of consecutive days you walked your pet.
- Quizzes and Information
Wagoria offers the ability to view and complete optional Quizzes, and view General Pet Information, Personalized Pet Information, and Entertainment.
- Memory Tracking
The Wagoria App provides you with an ability to upload and store photos of videos of your pets “Memory Tracker”. If you choose, you can caption these photos/videos, include their date or location or associate them with events you have entered into the Wagoria App. However, what information you include with your photos/videos is your choice.
NOTE: The Memory tracking feature is not intended to store the sole copy of your photos/videos, and DocuPet is not responsible if you lose access to such photos or videos. You should always retain your own remote copies of your photos and videos (for example, on a portable drive) and may wish to have backup copies of sentimental materials.
- Walk Tracking
The Wagoria App includes a walk tracking feature that allows you to record the distance, time, speed/pace (calculated based on time and distance), and routes you take when you walk your pet (“Walk Tracker”). To use the Walk Tracker, you must have the location services setting activated on your mobile device, and the Walk Tracker works by detecting the location of your mobile device, not your pet directly.
Each time you take a walk with your pet, if you wish to use the Walk Tracker feature automatically, you must turn it on at the beginning of your walk and turn it off once you are finished. If you do not wish to use the automatic tracking functionality of the Walk Tracker, you also have the option to enter your walks manually.
- Sharing
The Wagoria App integrates functionality that allows users to share material of their choosing, such as events, memories, walks, and pet insights, with recipients of their choosing using the communication channels they select from available options such as text message, email, or social media posts/messages. All such communications are sent from the user, not from DocuPet. You may only share material with recipients whom you think will be happy to receive it, and who will not consider it spam, or otherwise unwelcome.
These communications channels are offered and controlled by third parties, such as social media platforms, and may be offered by those third parties under terms and privacy policies that differ from the DocuPet Terms and the DocuPet Privacy Policy. You should read the terms and privacy policy of every site or service you choose to use. DocuPet is not responsible for the practices of any such third parties.

- Insights
The Wagoria App uses artificial intelligence (the “AI Tool”) to process the information you provide to the quiz features within the app; information in your Pet Profile information; other information you track or upload to the Wagoria App (including for example, information you provide to the Event Tracker, the Memory Tracker, and the Walk Tracker); your general location; if you use our Smart Tracker, information gathered through the Smart Tracker, such as your pet’s heart rate and activity); and information that DocuPet obtains from third party sources (for example local weather).
This information is used to make inferences regarding your pet and its behaviour, and to provide you with tips, suggestions, summaries and alerts and to answer questions you ask the AI Tool. For example, the information you provide to the AI Tool may be used to provide you with training tips that you may find useful in training your pet, or reminders if you have missed walking or playing with your pet.
You can also ask the AI Tool questions and receive answers based on the information you have entered into the Wagoria App, and the third party data sources available to the AI Tool.

Smart Tracker Service
The Smart Tracker Service is a subscription service that offers a pet dog location tracking, activity tracking, and health indicator monitoring service that operates through the use of a tracker device that your dog wears, and a mobile application that you install on your mobile device.
Using the Smart Tracker Service, you can record and keep track of information about your dog using the mobile app and your mobile device. This information includes:
- The location of your dog (n.b. all references to the “location of your dog” refer to the location of the Smart Tracker device, which can only track the location of your pet while attached to them in accordance with any instructions that may be provided in the device manual),
- Historic dog location information,
- Activity information related to your dog, both current and historic consisting of:
- number of hours at rest
- number of minutes at various activity levels ex. walking, running
- barking activity
- additional activity data in beta testing ex. number of minutes eating, drinking
- Health indicators related to your dog, both current and historic consisting of:
- resting heart rate
- resting respiratory rate
- heart signature
The Smart Tracker device is able to track the location of your dog while they wear the Smart Tracker device in the following manners:
- If you have Bluetooth permission enabled on your mobile device for the Smart Tracker App, then you may be able to view the location of the Smart Tracker device. This permission determines both the location of your mobile device, and the location of the Smart Tracker device.
- The Smart Tracker device may be able to detect its proximity to a public database of nearby WiFi nodes, and you may be able to view the location of the Smart Tracker device on your mobile device.
- You can set “safe zones” each with a location and radius you define, and receive alerts when your pet enters or exits each zone.
- The Smart Tracker device may be able to track its location using GPS.
If you have “Location Services” active on your mobile device, you may also be able to view the location of the Smart Tracker device relative to the location of your mobile device. To provide this feature, with your permission, the Smart Tracker App collects both the GPS location of your mobile device, and that of the Smart Tracker device, so that you may view both of these locations on a map.
You control the settings on your mobile device, and can choose to turn off both Location Services, and Bluetooth. You may turn each of the location collections described above on and off separately. However, if you turn one of these features off, the features of the Smart Tracker Service that rely on these settings will not function while they are off.
